COVID-19 POLICIES

The following policies apply to activity in our facilities in Washington State and were updated on 10/21/21. When we say “EL1” or “EL1 Sports” it is a reference to all sports (baseball, softball, football) that we operate.


At EL1 Sports we are committed to the health and safety of everyone in our programs and facilities. To keep our athletes, coaches and staff as protected against COVID-19 as possible while engaging in athletic endeavors, we are following all local, state, and federal guidelines. Scroll down for information on our guidelines that are in line with Washington policies.

 

For King County – Seattle, Redmond, & Woodinville facilities only

OVERVIEW: VERIFICATION OF VACCINATION

Due to a King County Verification of Vaccination Order, all clients and visitors 12-years of age and older are required to provide verification that they are fully vaccinated before entering an EL1 facility.

An alternative to providing verification of full vaccination is to provide a negative FDA-approved PCR test administered within the previous 72 hours.

Medical and religious vaccine exemptions are not accepted in place of vaccine verification or documentation of a negative COVID test.

Applicable to all athletes, coaches and staff at the EL1 Seattle, Redmond and Woodinville locations, starting October 25, 2021

 

HOW TO SUBMIT VACCINATION VERIFICATION

LeagueApps, where all current athletes are registered and have a profile, has just finished a process to help with this one-time verification. Watch this tutorial video or follow the directions below:

  1. Log into your organization’s LeagueApps account that you use for team registration.
  2. On the right-hand side, click “My Family Account”. You will see all players and guardians who are tied to the account.
  3. Update the athlete vaccination status by clicking the “edit” option to the right of the athlete’s name.
  4. Scroll down past the profile information to the bottom of the page to find the question, “Is your player fully vaccinated for COVID-19? (REQUIRED)”
  5. Choose the best answer for this athlete:
    1. “Yes”
    2. “No”
    3. “My player is younger than 12 years old”
  6. If “Yes”, click the “Choose File” button to upload a copy of the document.

Note: If you have not done so already, you will need to upload the verification document to your computer or other device you are working on before clicking “Choose File”. *See Accepted Verification Documents below.

  1. Select “Choose File” to select and upload a copy of the verification document.
  2. Click “Save” to finish the process.
  3. If you selected “No” or “My player is younger than 12 years old”, you do not need to upload anything.
  4. Repeat the process for any other athletes in our programming.

*Accepted Verification Documents (per the order)

  • CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Record Card, or photo of CDC Vaccine Record Card
  • QR Code, digital or printed certificate from MyIRMobile — https://myirmobile.com — a WA Department of Health partner website for immunization records
  • Vaccine administration record from a vaccine provider, including an individual’s doctor, pharmacy, or other official immunization record from within or outside the U.S., including a photo or photocopy
  • Any other digital vaccine card specified by Public Health – Seattle & King County as sufficient to demonstrate proof of vaccination status.

Is there a grace period for athletes turning 12?

Yes. King County allows a period of time for individuals turning 12 to take the appropriate steps to become fully vaccinated. As soon as the person becomes fully vaccinated we ask that they update their vaccination status in their LeagueApps account and upload their verification of vaccination.

ALTERNATIVE TO PROVIDING VACCINATION VERIFICATION

“…prior to entry individuals must provide digital or printed documentation from a testing agent, including a laboratory, health care provider, or pharmacy of a negative FDA-approved molecular (e.g., PCR) test or an FDA-approved antigen (e.g., rapid) test administered within the previous 72 hours. Antigen tests that are self-administered will not be accepted.

  • A negative FDA-approved PCR test administered within the previous 72 hours

Medical and religious vaccine exemptions are not accepted in place of vaccine verification or documentation of a negative COVID test.”

How will negative PCR tests be provided and reviewed?

During instructor led workouts, the process of showing a negative PCR test as mentioned above will be to simply show this test to the designated EL1 employee at the facility.

During team practice days, athletes will need to show their negative PCR test to an EL1 employee or to a representative or coach from the organization.

Showing proof of this negative test must be done each time a person enters the facility until they provide verification of full vaccination.

 

What if a person is not quite fully vaccinated, but partially?

To be fully vaccinated a person must have, “…received all the required doses of an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine (two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) or a WHO-authorized COVID-19 vaccine series, and 14 days have passed since the final dose.”

This means a partially vaccinated athlete, coach, or visitor must provide proof of a negative PCR test within the past 72 hours of entering our EL1 facilities until fully vaccinated. Once fully vaccinated they will need to submit proof of vaccination to end the testing.

 

 

For Puyallup and Tacoma facilities

HEALTH SCREENING

In order to keep our staff and clients safe, and to reduce the chance of athletes missing out on training days, we will not allow anyone in our facilities if they:

  • Show symptoms of COVID-19; or
  • Are not fully vaccinated and have been in close contact (within six feet for 15 cumulative minutes over a 24-hour period) with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 with an antigen or molecular test in the past 14 days; or
  • Has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days or are awaiting results of a COVID19 test due to possible exposure or symptoms and not from routine asymptomatic COVID-19 screening or surveillance testing; or
  • Has been told by a public health or medical professional to self-monitor, self-isolate, or self-quarantine because of concerns about COVID-19 infection in the past 14 days.

 

For all facilities

MASK GUIDELINES

At this time, Washington State guidelines require masks to be worn indoors, regardless of vaccination status. However, there are exceptions included in the guidelines below.

  • Athletes are required to wear masks at the following times:
    • When entering or exiting a facility
    • When preparing for and waiting to get on the turf
    • When leaving the turf for any reason (grabbing personal or team equipment, using the restroom, etc.)
    • When having team meetings
    • When in classroom-type settings
    • Any other time El1, Softball University and RISE Football staff members direct them to (in alignment with their COVID-19 safety training)
  • Athletes are NOT required to wear masks when they are actively training
  • Coaches, volunteers, and visitors will be required to wear masks at all times, with exception of when they are drinking
  • EL1 staff will be required to wear masks at all times, with the exception of when they are drinking

 

SOCIAL DISTANCING

We will continue to emphasize social distancing for anyone who enters our facilities. In doing so, we will reduce the risk of having close contact* with someone who has COVID-19 and is unaware. Not only can this greatly reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, but it also reduces the chances of individuals, small groups, or even teams having to miss time training because they had to quarantine.

 

*Close contact as defined by the CDC: Someone who was less than 6 feet away from infected person (laboratory-confirmed or a clinical diagnosis) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (for example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes). An infected person can spread SARS-CoV-2 starting from 2 days before they have any symptoms (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days before the positive specimen collection date), until they meet the criteria for ending isolation.

 

HYGIENE

All people on-site should practice good hygiene including washing their hands frequently and covering their sneezes and coughs. Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after practice, especially after touching shared objects or blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains 60-95% alcohol content. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they are dry. Wash hands with soap and water as soon as possible. Athletes should bring their own water bottles and should not share with others.

 

RESPONDING TO CASES OR SUSPECTED CASES OF COVID-19

At EL1 Sports we will communicate with our clients (directors, coaches, and parents) about COVID-19 incidents that impact them. This includes any positive COVID-19 tests, exposures, possible exposures, and how we will be addressing them.

 

If anyone develops symptoms of COVID-19 or was in close contact with a person who is confirmed to have COVID-19 or is suspected to, contact their EL1 Sports Program Manager as soon as possible. The Program Manager will gather information about the incident and work our internal team to determine next steps for all individuals who may be affected. If we communicate quickly and effectively, we can keep everyone safe and ensure a full off-season of excellent training and impactful mentorship.
